A Gift for Those Impacted by Climate Disasters

Ami Vitale has launched an initiative to gift a copy of her photograph “A Hopeful Sign” to anyone who has lost their home in the Los Angeles Wildfires or in any of the numerous wildfires, floods and droughts that are ravishing the planet.

At this moment, we are able to offer 1,000 prints. We will ship this photograph whenever the individual is ready to receive it. Those who would like to obtain a print can reach out to us at 1000prints@vitalimpacts.org to receive theirs. 

Ami's sister lost her house in the Ventura fire in 2016 and the thing that upset her the most was losing her art. We hope this print will serve as a source of comfort and a symbol of new possibilities at a time so many lives have been uprooted.

This is part of Vital Impacts’ ongoing work to counteract the effects of climate change. In December, we launched an initiative supporting people, wildlife, and ecosystems in the Amazon––which face severe challenges from fire, drought and deluge. If we have any hope of addressing this global climate catastrophe, we must protect the “Lungs of the Planet.” The impacts extend beyond borders, threatening lives, habitats, and the very air we all breathe.
