The Convening Group of Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon is an international organization which acts on behalf of 511 Indigenous Peoples, of which approximately 66 are Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact. They work through political-organizational grassroots organizations, in the nine Amazonian countries: Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Colombia, Surinam and French Guiana.
As indigenous Amazonian peoples, their efforts are directed towards the promotion, protection and security of their territories, through their ways of life, principles and social, spiritual and cultural values.
Under the motto “Living Amazon, Safe Humanity”, their preexistence is framed in the defense of life and the Amazon to continue as a seed in the earth and conserve Mother Nature, for a living planet that ensures the continuity of present and future generations.
