Luca Locatelli. Nuclear Ride.

A nuclear reactor at Kalkar was finished just before the 1986 explosion at Chernobyl, Ukraine—and never used. It’s now an amusement park with a ride in what would have been the cooling tower. Fear of nuclear power spurred Germany’s transition.

Luca Locatelli is an environmental photographer and film-maker focused on the relations between people, science-technology and the environment. He started photography in 2006 after a 10 years career as a software developer.
