Luca Locatelli. Nuclear Ride.

A nuclear reactor at Kalkar was finished just before the 1986 explosion at Chernobyl, Ukraine—and never used. It’s now an amusement park with a ride in what would have been the cooling tower. Fear of nuclear power spurred Germany’s transition.

Luca Locatelli is a visual storyteller who focuses on the relationships between people, science, technology and the environment.

His projects are realised in collaboration with scientists, journalists, environmentalists to contextualise his research further.  Luca's work, for more than a decade, has been focused on exploring plausible solutions to tackle the climate crisis with the aim to an open discussion about our common future.
