Vinod Liyanage. A Tranquil Moment.

While visiting Wilpattu National Park in northwestern Sri Lanka with my family, we paused to rest in a quiet spot after a morning of photographing birds and leopards. 

Then I noticed there is a troop of toque macaques moving through the trees above us. I spotted a baby monkey clinging to its mother's belly and waited patiently until they came down to a branch at eye level. Seizing the opportunity, I captured the peaceful moment of the baby monkey sleeping between feeds. 

Vinod Liyanage is a wildlife photographer from Sri Lanka. Fascinated by birds and mammals since childhood, he's been honored with numerous local and international awards for his work.
