Bob is a Caribbean flamingo from the island of Curaçao. His life changed when he flew into a hotel window, leaving him severely concussed. He was taken in by veterinarian Odette Doest, who runs the wildlife rehabilitation center and conservation organization Fundashon Dier en Onderwijs Cariben (FDOC). Due to lasting injuries, Bob could not be released. Instead, he became a spokes bird for environmental awareness —helping to educate local communities on the importance of protecting the island’s wildlife.
The Flamboyance series is a celebration of feathers, wings, and presence. By moving in close, these images invite a more intimate way of seeing—where attention becomes connection, and Bob is no longer just observed, but felt.
