Isabella Tabacchi. The Border. Limited Edition.

Opasny Canyon in Kamchatka, in Russia’s Far East, is a vast gorge shaped by waterfalls carrying sulfur-rich waters. It showcases the striking diversity of a volcanic landscape, where reds and yellows in the earth mix with the vivid green of grass. The canyon’s waterfalls originate from the glaciers of Mutnovsky Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in Kamchatka, and in the world. Photographer Isabella Tabacchi explored Kamchatka, the land of 29 active volcanoes, in 2019, fulfilling a long-held dream of witnessing a place where fire and ice, forests and volcanoes, creation and destruction exist in dramatic contrast.

Isabella Tabacchi is an Italian landscape photographer based in Bologna but often exploring the World. For her, photographing the environment is a way to express her inner self and emotions through natural symbols, and often the preference for some specific weather, colors and contrasts. Isabella is Fujifilm GFX and Gitzo Ambassador and in the past has been part of the Grand Jury of the Hasselblad Masters 2021. She received the title of Photographer of the Year in Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA), the third prize winner in the International Landscape Photographer of the year 2020 and 2023, 1 place winner in the Xposure Awards in UAE, Top 10 Photos Winners in the DJI SkyPixel 9th Annual Photo & Video Contest, Fine Art Photo Awards, Memorial Maria Luisa Awards, Siena Awards, Drone Photo Awards.
