Ronan Donovan at the Breakthrough Miami Youth Climate Summit in Miami, FL on March 16, 2024

National Geographic Explorer Ronan Donovan will be speaking on March 16 at 9:15 a.m. at Ransom Everglades Middle School as part of our Student Speaker Series, produced in collaboration with Changemaker Talent. His talk, titled “The Nature of Kinship,” will be the first at this year’s Miami Youth Climate Summit, an assembly of students determined to educate people on how to limit their ecological footprint and empower others to take action.

Ronan spends months at a time, year after year, with wild families of wolves, chimpanzees, and mountain gorillas to capture imagery that highlights our shared challenges, behaviors, and family bonds.

Students at the summit will have the opportunity to learn as he uses visual storytelling to illuminate stories related to our fellow social mammals to remind us that we are all connected.

Interested students and educators can purchase tickets to attend the event at miamiyouthclimatesummit.com, or register to watch the event online for free. In-person tickets include all-day access to workshops, lunch, and MYCS merchandise.
