Reuben Wu. The Inconvenience of Totality.
This image of a lunar eclipse was made on January 20, 2019, from the side of a highway in the Mojave Desert. I was mid-drive between locations on a personal project when a friend texted to remind me the eclipse was about to peak. I was stuck in traffic. After what seemed like forever, I pulled over, found a dark patch of road, and set up my camera.
The arc of light is intentional — a slow tripod pan made while photographing the successive phases of the eclipse.
